Keeping Sparks' Attention

From Barb B. - Calgary Area

An idea that I have found useful in keeping my active Sparks sitting for even a moment is to pretend that there is glue on the floor and when they sit on it, they are stuck. This usually works for a few minutes- just enough time to give some information and then on to some active games.

We have skipping ropes, bean bags and balls and colouring books and crayons available at the beginning of the meeting, this allows the active ones to be active and the artistic ones to colour while the leaders are talking to parents or getting set up. It gives them something to do
